Superdry exclusively available from The Air & Water Centre
A new moisture absorbing shipping desiccant, Superdry, is now available in the UK that absorbs 200% its own weight in moisture. It will protect cargo from moisture damage when being transported in containers for up to eight weeks. Superdry is used extensively throughout the world to protect cargos including agricultural products, textiles, furniture, metals, paper, electrical components, automotive parts, foods, bottled beverages, tobacco, glass and many more. It is now exclusively available in the UK from The Air & Water Centre.
“Unlike other container desiccants that rely on a plastic receptacle to collect moisture, Superdry captures the moisture by turning it into a gel. This totally avoids the risk of potential spills or leaks inherent with receptacle-based products. Also, Superdry’s outer casing is made from a spun-bound material that only allows air and moisture to travel one way through it. This means that it can be thrown around and manhandled yet still remains 100% leak free.
“The active ingredient in Superdry is calcium chloride. A powerful desiccant with ten times the absorbency of silica and five times the absorbency of clay-based desiccants. A 1kg unit can absorb up to 2 litres of water over the duration of a voyage”. Any company wishing to test the effectiveness of Superdry can request a free sample.
