The UltraJet story began in the mid 1950s with the formation of Dowty Marine when the early turbocraft jet boat was introduced. Over the years the company has been a successful innovator, developing specialist markets for waterjet applications and became a major supplier to the military sector for amphibious vehicles. Both pod units and hull inserted waterjets have been engineered specifically for this market sector and a strong presence has been developed with navies, coastguards and government agencies world-wide , supplying waterjets for pilot boats, rigid inflatable’s and offshore patrol vessels.

In the mid 1990s when the business became an independent company specialising in waterjets, the UltraJet range of high performance waterjets and control systems was introduced. Since introducing the UltraJet range, steady progress has been made building up an impressive reference list of successful applications in the commercial workboat and leisure sectors.
